Abstract:
This report describes a 2001 project involving the assessment of the impact of hatchery-released red drum fish in Biscayne Bay, Florida. Objectives were to determine if hatchery-released fish were reproductive, collect tissue samples from the caudal fin of juvenile red drum to determine if they were offspring of hatchery-released red drum, to monitor fish movement and survival, to continue an angler-based fish information and sample return program, incorporate expert anglers volunteers to monitor and sample red drum, and to sustain the angler outreach program to educate and promote project awareness.
