Abstract:

This item is part of a series of letters regarding the schooner Virginia at the Bass lab. The Bass Biological Laboratory was a fully functioning research laboratory as well as a biological collecting and field station. The lab was located in Englewood, Florida, and operated during the 1930s and 1940s. This announcement from Else Bass notes that the Virginia was decked.
