Abstract:

This item is part of a series of diagrams of the brains of rays, skates, and sharks. This diagram is magnified to 8 and 1/3 the size of the ray's brain. The Bass Biological Laboratory was a fully functioning research laboratory as well as a biological collecting and field station. The lab was located in Englewood, Florida, and operated during the 1930s and 1940s.
