dc.description.abstract This report discusses a project which studied data from 1165 case histories of shark attack against humans. These records were reduced to a form handle-able by automatic data retrieval systems. The information retrieved provided statistical significance to the existence or absence of common factors associated with known instances of predaceous shark behavior, and also was used to evaluate the present approach to gathering meaningful data on shark attacks and thereby determine requirements for maintaining such an effort in the future. en
