Abstract:
This report discusses a project with an objective to use radio telemetry to answer questions of movement and foraging patterns of the Atlantic spotted dolphin. Radio telemetry met with limited success, and these questions were addressed by analyses of follow data archived by our group, analyzed in the context of oceanographic data obtained by remote sensing. Additionally, spotted dolphins were photographed (digital video and digital and 35 mm still images) for contributions to a photo-ID catalog maintained by the Offshore Cetacean Ecology Program at Mote Marine Laboratory.
