Abstract

This item is part of a series of correspondence and business records relating to the distribution of shark products, especially jewelry made from sharks teeth. For a few years beginning in 1938, most of the shark products distributed from the supply company were produced under the name Genuine Shark Products. This letter to Harry B. Bolton is a response to an inquiry regarding how to get into the business of producing shark skins and hides for distribution. A discussion of the tanning process and preparation of shark skins for market, as well as the limitations on starting such a business, is included in the letter.
