Aerial studies of the West Indian manatee (Trichechus manatus) from the west coast of Florida from 1985-1990 : a comprehensive six year study.

Abstract

Aerial surveys to estimate manatee populations and distribution have been conducted since 1985. This report presents 6 years of collected data from 1985-1990. The objectives were to determine the relative abundance, distribution, seasonality, and habitat requirements for manatees in the bays, gulfs, and rivers of west Florida.
