dc.description.abstract This report describes activities of Mote Marine Laboratory's Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Site Program. The purpose of this study was to conduct genetic sampling and tagging of a coastal shark species in continental nursery areas by Mote Marine Laboratory. Blacktip sharks within Terra Ceia Bay were collected for automated and active tracking efforts, genetic tissue sampling and tag and release. A total of 109 sharks were monitored via acoustic equipment during the course of this project. en
