Sarasota Sportsmen’s Association, Inc. (SSA) 17th Annual Youth Sporting Expo & Mote Teach-A-Kid-Fishing & Ecology Clinic Event Held May 17, 2014 at Mote Aquaculture Park, Sarasota, FL

Abstract

In 2014, Mote partnered with the Sarasota Sportsmen’s Association, Inc. (SSA) to hold an event for children at Mote Aquaculture Research Park (MAP). We found that the SSA was planning a Youth Sporting Event with emphasis on fishing, so we reached out to them with the idea to partner and hold an even larger diverse event, which would provide exposure to more children in the community. The collaboration resulted in the 17th Annual Youth Sporting Expo & Mote Teach-A-Kid Fishing & Ecology Clinic held on May 17th at MAP. It was a tremendously successful event with eighty children ages 5 to 16 and their families from Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties attending.
