In order to address the community structure of phytoplankton in relation to the environmental data (chemical and physical) in Sarasota bay, Mote Marine Laboratory (MML), in conjunction with the Sarasota County ambient monitoring program, had collected extra monthly samples from 20 stations in four segments (US, 11, 10, and 13) from July 2007 through December 2008. The findings of this effort were submitted to Sarasota Bay Estuary Program in the Mote Marine Laboratory Technical Report (MTR) #14l7 titled "Patterns in community structure of phytoplankton in relation to environmental data in Sarasota Bay".
