dc.description.abstract This project was undertaken as a preliminary investiqation of the hydrocarbon content of the marine alqae, Caulerpa prolifera, in cooperation with Dr. John Ryther of the Center for Marine Biotechnology, Harbor Branch Poundation, Inc., Fort Pierce, Florida. These alqae are beinq qrown at the Harbor Branch facility to investiqate their potential for synthesizinq hydrocarbons to be used as chemical feed stocks and for the production of hydrocarbon fuels. en_US
