dc.description.abstract The Phillippi Creek drainage basin includes a total of 36,057 acres of coastal lowlands. Part of the basin, 386 acres, extends to the north into Manatee County, part, approximately 1,920 acres, lies within the City of Sarasota. The entire watershed consists of gently sloping terrain and falls from an elevation of 40 feet in the headwaters down to sea level at Roberts Bay. The land in the basin has an average slope of 0.2 percent, or one foot in 500 feet. en_US
