Since 1996,Mote Marine Laboratory has been monitoring the waters of the Chassahowitzka River and National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Goals were to establish baseline conditions for both water quality and submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV).
