Abstract:
This is the third of eight field journals by Dr. Charles M. Breder Jr. written
during his fieldwork in Florida from 1958 to 1974. The journal spans the period of
November 1960 through November 1961 and details Breder’s “patrols”
(experimental observations) attempting to establish a statistical measure of small
“black fish” fry. Also described is another long term experiment using electronic
technology to detect if special audio frequencies were able to attract or repel
fishes. Additionally, the content includes descriptions of Breder’s day to day
activities on his property in Florida such as the creation of a guest house,
installing electricity, and planting various flora and fauna.
