dc.description.abstract This is the first of eight field journals by Dr. Charles M. Breder Jr. written during his fieldwork in Florida from 1958 to 1974. This diary covers three expeditions from 1958 to 1959. Many of his observations were of the schooling, feeding, and reproductive behaviors of mullets and needlefish, in addition to that of other local species. Of particular note are his direct ties to Mote Marine Laboratory. Much of his fieldwork was done at Cape Haze Laboratory in Placida, Florida. Additionally, this journal makes frequent reference to his close work with Dr. Eugenie Clark, the founder of Mote Marine Laboratory. en_US
