dc.description.abstract |
The purpose of this project was to assess the optimal conditions under which to obtain the highest counts of manatees at the Tampa Electric Company's Apollo Beach power plant in Florida; to determine the percentage of manatees present at the plant, that are available to be observed and counted (detection probability) under different weather conditions; and to develop a correction factor to adjust aerial counts of manatees based on the percentage of manatees undercounted during the survey. |
