Abstract:
This project was designed to determine Vallisneria americana habitat faunal utilization within the Caloosahatchee River in Florida, east of the US41 bridge. Data presented here represent the first year of a three year study designed to further our understanding of which organisms (fish and invertebrates) utilize the V. americana habitat. The study addresses how season, salinity, and plant/bed morphometry affect V. americana's faunal community. Activities include sampling during different seasons, and the results are presented.
