dc.description.abstract This report describes a project where manatees were observed to collect data on opportunistic approaches by independent boaters during 1999 and 2000. Data was collected in order to more fully elucidate the patterns of responses of manatees to the range of boating approaches commonly experienced by these animals in waters along Florida's west coast. Manatees in this project were observed in the waters near City Island, Sarasota, Florida. en_US
