dc.description.abstract This article describes the history of red tide studies at Mote Marine Laboratory, covering approximately 1955-1995. This article is part of the 40 year anniversary celebration of Mote Marine Laboratory. Sampling and display of red tide by Eugenie Clark began as early as 1957 at the Cape Haze Laboratory, with the official Red Tide Program starting in April of 1972 at Mote Marine Laboratory. Red tide studies have expanded and continued to the present. en_US
