dc.description.abstract The city of Venice, Florida, obtained a permit allowing a beach restoration project in 1993. This permit allowed the nourishment of the beaches of Venice and imposed several special permit conditions. One of the special conditions sought to prevent adverse impacts to marine turtles. This report summarizes measures taken to address this issue, including the monitoring and surveying of marine turtles, and relocation of turtle nests as needed that might be affected by construction activities. It also includes overall evaluation of project activities. en_US
