Summer 2012

In the summer of 2012, Mote Marine Laboratory hosted a 10-week, National Science Foundation funded program focused on providing research experiences in estuarine science to 12 undergraduate students. Students were paired with Mote scientists and conducted research on major threats to estuaries such as aquatic pollution, natural toxins, habitat alteration, and coral reef decline. Students gained experience in science communication by presenting the results of their independent project at a laboratory-wide poster presentation.

Shown here are those project results.
