dc.description.abstract This report summarizes a project with a goal to address the role of hydrology (discharge) on red tide. The issue addressed was whether river discharge delivers nutrients to the near-shore Gulf waters of a type and at a level that could influence the development and maintenance of red tide. This papers describes the progress made during the reporting period January 31, 2003 - March 18, 2003, when samples were collected at 6 stations along the Caloosahatchee River estuary in Florida.
