Abstract:
This is the quarter II report of a project conducted from January 1 - March 31, 1992 and describes the results of a study that was undertaken as part of an attempt to understand the migration and stock identity of the king and Spanish mackerel, red grouper and red snapper in the Gulf of Mexico. The goal was to report movement and migration of the mackerel, grouper and snapper, followed by length/frequency distributions and catch per unit efforts (CPUE) information and to obtain specimens for electrophoresis at specific Mexican locations. These locations were chosen so that the tagging effort would correspond with migration patterns off Mexico. During quarter II, work was concentrated off the state of Yucatan.
