Abstract:
This is the quarter IV report of a project conducted from October 1 - December 31, 1993 and describes the results of a study that was undertaken as part of an attempt to understand the migration and stock identity of the king and Spanish mackerel in the Gulf of Mexico. The goal was to report movement and migration of the mackerel, followed by length/frequency distributions and catch per unit efforts (CPUE) information, and to collect otoliths for stock assessment at specific Mexican locations. During quarter IV, work was concentrated off the state of Veracruz.
