dc.description Bibliography, 17 p. with 171 citations. en_US
dc.description.abstract This bibliography of boat traffic impacts and recreational boating carrying capacity was compiled to assist preparation of a management plan for a congested southwest Florida estuary. Applicable literature on these subjects for coastal marine areas is sparse. However, the issues of carrying capacity and boat congestion on lakes and rivers are prominent in the recreation and park administration literature and many useful papers were found from this discipline. Citations were compiled from the DIALOG information service's NTIS and Aquatic Science Abstract databases , plus bibliographies or reviews of recreational, boating, and marine literature. The 171 citations in this bibliography cover the period from 1950 - 1989, although there are limited entries before 1970. The geographical coverage of this bibliography is world-wide. en_US
