Abstract:
This letter is part of the correspondence between the Bass Biological Laboratory and various political and governmental figures, particularly at the United States Bureau of Fisheries. These letters include the exchange of data, materials, and information on biological subjects and problems during the 1930s. This letter to John F. Bass Jr. discusses an infestation of southern pine beetles in Englewood, Florida. William Middleton refers Bass to R. A. St. George of the Appalachian Forest Experiment Station, Asheville, North Carolina for advice. Middleton also requests a sample of the beetle.
