dc.description.abstract This report includes information on research performed by Mote Marine Aquaculture/Fish Stock Enhancement Program in Cooperation with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Stock Enhancement Research Facility from July 1, 1996 through May 9, 1997. The goal of this study was to establish reliable and simple to perform procedures for assessing egg quality in snook. The objective was to compare methods of measuring egg quality using eggs produced from natural ovulating females and eggs from hormone-induced spawns. The parameters for determining egg quality were fertilization rate, egg morphology and diameter, oil droplet diameter, percent hatch and larval survival to first feeding. The results of the study is described. en_US
