Abstract:
The objectives of the study were to evaluate the spatial variability in deposition of trace metals and nutrients across the watershed of Tampa Bay, Florida. Seven sites were established in representative areas of the watershed for the collection of bulk deposition over a one year period. Integrated weekly samples were collected and analyzed for copper, lead, zinc, aluminum, nitrogen species (nitrate-nitrite-nitrogen, ammonium-nitrogen, total Kjeldahl nitrogen) and total phosphorus. Synthetic organic sampling (biweekly composites analyzed for pesticides, PAHs, and PCBs) was conducted at five of the seven stations for a 12 week period. Results of the study is discussed.
