dc.description.abstract This report describes an investigation that was undertaken to provide hydrocarbon analyses for surficial sediment from new soft bottom sampling sites for the Year 03 Southwest Florida Shelf studies. Such information is needed for evaluating pre-drilling conditions and to provide cause and effect relationships with biological community surveys for assessing impacts from future oil drilling operations. The present study provides information about hydrocarbons from nearshore sediment completing the gap between the offshore and estuarine areas studied in previous projects. en_US
