Abstract:
A strong partnership has existed between Mote Marine Laboratory, Marine Aquaculture Research and Development Program and the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute - Stock Enhancement Research Facility (SERF) in Florida, for over ten years. This report details the Marine Stock Enhancement Research and Development Project activities that took place from September 1997 through June 1998. Activities and scope of work performed included the evaluation of systems at other facilities and designing and implementing microalgae production systems; evaluation of systems at other facilities and identifying rearing facilities for bay scallops at SERF to be installed in the greenhouse; prepared data and developed manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals; assisted in strategic planning; participated with and assisted SERF staff on management decisions relating to mutual goals and objectives; participated in research planning meetings with SERF staff; attended workshops, scientific conferences, and other activities in support of studies; and performed literature searches.
