dc.description.abstract This letter to J. Lear Grimmer responds to Grimmer's earlier letter (see bl1711) and discusses the fire at the lab, trouble with an employee called Herman, financial matters at the Venice Nokomis Bank, and personal news. This letter from John F. Bass Jr. was written during his stay in Mexico and includes various instructions for the Bass lab's other employees and some business matters for Bass' Chicago office. The letter also mentions the 'Church House' and the 'Palace,' presumably nicknames for structures at the Bass site. en_US
