dc.description.abstract This report describes a project where standard aerial survey methodology was used to survey manatees in the inshore and near-shore waters of Charlotte County, Florida, following an established general flight path, from September 1, 1997 to August 31, 1998. During this period, Mote Marine Laboratory observers completed 24 aerial surveys during 33 different flights. Studies concluded that manatees used these waters regularly and year-round, with seasonal shifts in relative abundance and regional distribution. en_US
