Abstract:

This letter to Dr. J. R. Schramm of the University of Pennsylvania discusses a type of banana fungus, Cercospora musae, which can cause Yellow Sigatoka, a type of banana disease. Bass mentions the governor of the Mexican state of Tabasco, Francisco Trujillo Gurria, as being interested in the problem of the banana fungus.
