This item is part of a series of photographs from a scrapbook created by Donald Joseph Zinn, an employee and later a research fellow at the Bass lab. These photos were most likely taken in the early 1930s. The remains from this site may have been Calusa or Seminole, based on earlier studies of the area by the Bureau of American Ethnology. Bones, likely human, appear in this image. |
