dc.description.abstract	On August 18, 1993, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection approved a permit for a beach restoration project for the city of Venice. This permit allowed the nourishment of the beaches of Venice, Sarasota County Florida and imposed several special permit conditions. One of the special conditions sought to prevent adverse impacts to marine turtles. This report summarizes measures taken to address these special permit conditions. This report documents the marine turtle protection measures, nesting activity, nest success, and sand compactness monitoring at turtle activity sites for the entire 4.6 mile length of Venice beaches.	en
