dc.description.abstract This item is part of a series of photographs from a scrapbook created by Donald Joseph Zinn, an employee and later a research fellow at the Bass lab. The Bass Biological Laboratory was a fully functioning research laboratory as well as a biological collecting and field station. The lab was located in Englewood, Florida, and operated during the 1930s and 1940s. These images were most likely taken in 1934 while Zinn worked at the lab. Many of the photographs have either a caption in the scrapbook, notes on the back of the photograph, or both. The alternate title listed above comes from the caption in the scrapbook. en
