Abstract:
This item is part of a series of photographs from a scrapbook created by Donald Joseph Zinn, an employee and later a research fellow at the Bass lab. These images were most likely taken in 1934 while Zinn worked at the lab. Many of the photographs have either a caption in the scrapbook, notes on the back of the photograph, or both. The alternate title listed above comes from the caption in the scrapbook, while the back caption on the photograph reads "Thanksgiving dinner- my place is the vacant one! The lady under the sail has eaten plenty!" Part of the Bass dock and a car are visible in this image, as well as a smaller table to the left of the main table. The smaller table contains four women, three in uniform.
