Abstract:
This item is part of a series of photographs from a scrapbook created by Donald Joseph Zinn, an employee and later a research fellow at the Bass lab. These images were most likely taken in 1934 while Zinn worked at the lab. Many of the photographs have either a caption in the scrapbook, notes on the back of the photograph, or both. The alternate title listed above comes from the caption in the scrapbook, while the back caption on the photograph reads "Stage I in the preparation of ham. Bill and Colie are shown with the pig prior to putting it in scalding water- an aid in skinning it (the outer coat with the hair). This one weighed about 300 lbs." This image is taken from above, and a car is visible in the background.
