dc.description.abstract Understanding the life history, abundance and environmental biology of shark species important in commercial and recreational fisheries. This 6 month study did 3 surveys capturing, tagging and recapturing previously tagged sharks. Movement patterns, and behavioral responses of sharks translocated from one nursery area to another were examined. Other studies were done on freshwater habitat use, mortality rates of sharks housed within coastal grounds and development was initiated for a more sensitive and non-lethal bioassay for detecting the effects of pollution. en
