Abstract:

This item is part of a series of forms, applications, and correspondence regarding the rationing of goods at the Bass Biological Laboratory and the Zoological Research Supply Company during the years leading up to, and the beginning of, World War II. This certificate from the Office of Defense Transportation allows for the use of a single-unit commercial vehicle for the purposes of collecting and shipping of material and for farming. This certificate is granted for purposes necessary to the war effort or for the 'maintenance of essential civilian economy.'
