dc.description.abstract The City of Venice had authorized the construction of a wooden retaining wall and shell road at the Esplanade, South in Sarasota County, Florida. This report describes a project beginning May 1, 1993 by Mote Marine Laboratory, Sea Turtle Conservation & Research Program, which involved the monitoring of this area proposed for construction on a daily basis. Marine turtle activity resulting in successful nesting and false crawls (or non-nesting emergences) were recorded and the results of the survey is described. en
