dc.description.abstract The goal of this project was to improve the capability to predict the evolution of beach restoration or other beach fill projects designed to include groins and jetties. The project approach used the CERC-developed shoreline change model GENESIS to numerically investigate how such structures function in relation to the fill sections and what design and/or employment modifications may be appropriate to increase the longevity and stability of the fill material. The field site chosen for investigation was Lido Beach on the Gulf of Mexico in Sarasota, Florida. The results of the study are described. en
