Evaluation of existing data on light requirements for the seagrasses Thalassia testudinum and Halodule wrightii.

Abstract

This report provides an evaluation of data collected on the light levels necessary to support seagrasses in Tampa Bay, Florida. This information was gathered in preparation of a field study that was to be conducted by Mote Marine Laboratory. The information includes a literature compilation of published studies which provide data in the following areas: percent light requirements for various species and compensation points and other descriptors of the photosynthesis/irradiance relationship for the seagrasses Thalassia and Halodule.
