Abstract

This report describes a study that was designed to evaluate tarpon release mortality and related issues of effects of various fishing techniques and practices on tarpon release mortality. The study was performed in the Boca Grande area of the Southwest Florida Gulf Coast because this area is famous for its tarpon fishing. The methods used for assessment included acoustic tagging/tracking.
