This report describes the fourth and final report of project with a goal of developing a general system for designing study and management plans on the impacts of nutrients in estuarine environments in south Florida. Mote has been working to review and evaluate several methodological tools relevant to estuarine eutrophication. Task 1 involved a literature review and method description; Task 2 was an assessment of strengths and weaknesses, and data needs of methods described in Task 1; Task 4, an application of findings to St. Lucie River was done next. This final report addressed the form and content of a general decision model. It is based on success with the St. Lucie application, and new insights from subsequent study. This task provides for the creation of a general decision model that can be used to determine the method or methods best suited for a given south Florida estuary, among one or more of several methods. |
