Aerial studies of the West Indian manatee (Trichechus manatus) on the west coast of Florida. 1990 technical report.

Abstract

This report presents 1990 sighting data for manatees from Anna Maria Sound to northern Charlotte Harbor, including the Myakka River, in Florida. This work is a continuation of manatee population studies conducted by Mote Marine Laboratory since 1985. The project objectives are to determine the distribution and habitat requirements for manatees and the method used is aerial surveys.
